Should the Windows Search Email Indexer add-in be deactivated in Outlook 2010/2013?

Yes, this is by design and supposed to be that way.

How to move an offline Outlook Data File (.ost)

Brief summary:

1. Close Outlook, open Mail in Control Panel.
2. Disable Cached Exchange Mode for the account.
3. Click Disable Offline Use on data file.
4. Use the Browse… button to choose the new location fo the .ost file (you can move the old one to save time)
5. Re-enable Cached Exchange Mode.

There is a new patch available for Outlook 2007 that fixes performance issues with large PSTs/OSTs.  We highly recommend applying this patch on all systems with Outlook 2007 installed.  If you are preparing a new installation, this patch should be applied in addition to the steps outlined in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;926505 .

When I send an e-mail message, it doesn't leave my Outbox or why I repaired my relationship with Outlook :-)

I love Outlook, but there are times where it gets really hard to love it. But there's hope!

Here are solutions that solve two of the most annoying things I encountered with Outlook:

• When I send an e-mail message, it doesn't leave my Outbox (as well as After viewing the Outbox, the messages in it won't send)

and

• OUTLOOK.EXE continues running after you exit Outlook
