SOLVED: Cannot download from MSDN subscriber downloads. An add-on … failed to run

When trying to download from MSDN Subscriber Downloads you receive the following error message in IE:

“An add-on for this website failed to run.”

Workaround:

Manually install File Transfer Manager from here.
